Frequently asked questions
Good to know
before you drive.
Clear answers about installing, using and understanding RoadCast.
01What is RoadCast?
RoadCast is an internet radio app made for cars with Android Automotive OS. It lets you browse and play live radio through the vehicle’s media environment.
02Is Android Automotive the same as Android Auto?
No. Android Automotive OS runs directly in the car. Android Auto projects apps from a connected phone. RoadCast is currently designed for vehicles with Android Automotive OS.
03Does RoadCast use mobile data?
Yes. Live radio streams need an internet connection. Data usage depends on the bitrate of the selected station and how long you listen.
04Do I need an account?
No. RoadCast does not require registration or sign-in. Install the app, choose a station and listen.
05Does RoadCast contain advertising?
RoadCast contains no advertising SDK and does not build an advertising profile. Individual radio stations may include their own audio advertising in their broadcasts.
06Why is a station missing or unavailable?
Station availability depends on the broadcaster and region. Streams can move or temporarily go offline. Contact us if a station is missing or no longer works.
07Can RoadCast play while I use navigation?
Yes. RoadCast uses Android’s media system, allowing audio to continue while you use navigation or another supported vehicle function.
08Which data does RoadCast collect?
RoadCast does not collect or store personal data itself. The selected station receives technically necessary connection data, such as your IP address, when its stream is played.
